The Truth Of War Project
Even a Broadview can have so much information. This project was one of those examples. Throughout this project we absorbed so much information, even if it was little details of the big events. A good example of this was learning of The Gulf of Tonkin Incident. Our teacher taught us the basic overview of the incident but had us look up the smaller details to write a paper for. We did sometimes go away from the big picture, finding little details that were helpful. A good example for this was learning a little bit of Ho Chi Minh and his mission in uniting Vietnam to become independent.
Initially, there wasn't much of a challenge to this project that was of course until we had to group up with random people again. It was hard at first opening up my ideas and opinions but thankfully I had a great group which consisted of Chloe, Finn, and Amaya. We shared our favorite quotes and things that stuck to us in our groups and that helped me have respect for group discussions. A good example was when my team agreed with my idea that everyone wants to go in a situation prepared. After re-buttling of each other we came to a conclusion it would be a better idea to send mentally and physically fit soldiers, then out of high school 18-year-olds to war.
During this project I have learned so much and I have honestly taken two deep understandings from it. We can take many different opinions in different ways but I came to my own opinions and understandings from this project. The first one being that soldiers coming back from war have gone through many different experiences and things that we have not experienced, even though we don't understand we should support them. We shouldn't try to understand since war can never be understood unless in it, but if we are by their side and help them get through it then everyone can reflect and go forward. My last understanding was that war is terrible and sometimes nonaffective, but it should be fought for the right year reason to unite people from all around no matter the place. Though sometimes it can become something terrible war is sometimes for the good and all of the world not just some. War is the extreme choice but is still a necessary thing.
